Yesterday @worr_ltd Ashleigh was delivering Mock Interviews with year 10 & 11s at Silverdale school, here’s what she had to say:

Silverdale School is a SEMH school in North Tyneside, which caters for the needs of students between the ages of seven to sixteen who experience social, emotional, and mental health (SEMH) difficulties.

I was so impressed with the young people I spoke to and again in awe of their hobbies and interests. One of the boys plays the guitar and sings in venues all around the North East - imagine having that kind of confidence at just 15! 🎤 Another boy explained how he finds it difficult being around people sometimes but loves animals and gardening so he is soon going to pay a visit to Kirkley Hall to see if he can volunteer there 🐿️ I love that at 15 he is already seeing the value in volunteering which I have promoted since I left school and started volunteering myself. It’s been fundamental in building my confidence since I was young and helped me to experience things I would never usually have the opportunity to experience 💞 I try to encourage as many young people as I can to volunteer and I’m always proud as punch when I hear them talk about how keen they are to volunteer 😄 #WORR #NTLT #SilverdaleSchool #socialimpact

“The children at Woodlawn School had additional needs which meant that each interview was tailored to each individual child’s communication style. This just made it even more fun for us interviewers to get to know the young people 😄

I was particularly thrilled to hear how many of the children attended @truecolourstheatre which is the project we helped to refurbish via @bbcdiysos 🛠️

The student I was interviewing told me that 600 children now attend the Theatre which is so amazing & makes me burst with pride that @worr_ltd were able to play a small part in the refurbishment of such a vital facility in our local community💪🏼

WORR Ashleigh was taking part in a Mock Interview Morning for year 11s at Monkseaton High School earlier this week. Here’s what she had to say about the session 📣

One of the reasons I enjoy doing Mock Interviews is that I get to spend a few minutes getting to hear about all of the fantastic hobbies the young people do in our local area 😄

From competitive Ice skating at Whitley bay Ice Rink, to being in a band that record in a music studio in North Shields 🎶

One student does Boxing at an elite club in Blyth, another Karate, crocheting, swimming you name it the North East has it! 🥊

Over 300 students and 30 businesses from the North East and Tees Valley took part at @newcastleeagles Vertu Motors Arena, which was such a cool arena 🤩

🚗 Day 3 of Work Experience 🚗

Cole & I have been out on the road today 🚘

We started our morning at AMD Specialist Coatings learning all about the powder coating process, which was so rewarding to watch 🤩

The lovely Katie explained the full process from start to finish, and even showed us a top secret product 😉

It was very obvious how much care and attention they put into their work and we loved it - she even offered Cole some work experience 🎨

Next we headed over to Express Lasers Ltd for a really insightful tour by Thomas. The machinery they have is seriously impressive, I’m always blown away by what you can make with a laser cutter🔬

Thomas gave Cole some great tips that he can take away & stressed how important it is to have a great team around you - we couldn’t agree more at WORR Metal Fabrication & Services Ltd 👫👫
